Brainiac Universe started in 2006. It was, and still is, as a family owned educational services company. We pride ourselves on providing high quality tutoring and educational resources at affordable prices. The Brainiac Puzzle was originally designed to help improve student engagement during tutoring sessions. The first puzzles were created in the company workshop using colorful printed images, wood boards, and a scroll saw.

We quickly learned that our student's loved playing with the puzzles during tutoring session. A student that had a rough day at school would welcome a puzzle before jumping into lessons. We decided to offer the puzzle to a few local schools and found that they worked equally as well in classroom settings. Students were able to quickly figured out how to complete the activity with little to no instruction and always asked for more puzzles to do when they finished. We quickly ran into issue of keeping up with demand. We also found that, while families loved the wood finish, and the sturdiness of the hand-made puzzles, some aspects of the finish suffered from the abrasive nature of the scroll saw. For these reasons, we decided it was time seek out a manufacturing partner.

After vetting out several companies, we eventually found good partnership with a local die mold creating company in Palmyra, New Jersey, a print company in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, and a paper company in Philadelphia. Through these partnerships, we can now facilitate a front-to-end process for designing, manufacturing, packaging, and distributing large quantities of our products. Because we contract locally, we can also proudly say that our Brainiac Puzzles help support local businesses here in the USA.

We believe the Brainiac Puzzle will be a great addition to your learning/teaching experience. It's fun and provides users with an engaging educational tool that turns learning into play. Studies have found that students who play while learning develop a more positive attitude towards the overall learning experience, and as a result, spend more time learning. Learning through play also greatly decreases anxiety and increases the likelihood that knowledge provided during the lesson will be retained.
